^^^ Wonder what the light pattern would be like, maybe too close to the tire.

I'm quite tempted to buy a Soma Saga disc frame set. Any other similar I should consider before I do?

I should add I'm looking to have disc breaks on it, so that rules out the Velo Orange.

Yes 60mm tyres measure 60 as well so not exactly ideal, but they were the biggest, I could find. The new rims will even take the tyres out to 61...

That Rivendell is ridiculous, all the weight on the rear! the icing on the cake is the 40mm setback seatpost.

Permawheelie setup.
The rear guard looks very tight as well, I doubt that bike has actually done any offroad touring in that configuration.
Always liked the Hilsen frame though.

Fantastic placement of the tin mug as well. Fixed on so that it simultaneously drives you mental with rattling, dents a nice hole in the paint on the stay AND fills with dust.
Strong work. -

Gosh what a grumpy bunch.
Isn't it handy on trails to keep the front wheel light? So it can lift to rollover things? If it feels too light... stand up. You can (stand up) because the weight of the load helps with rear wheel traction?

What front hub/wheel you planning on running with the Spyre's @Dom? Careful of anything with a flange-to-flange over 59mm as you'll run into clearance problems with the caliper and spokes. The calipers measure up a bit wider than others due to the arm that extends over the body to acctuate both pistons.
Seems I got lucky!
