I'm after a Gazelle frame myself after noticing some suspect rust on my Raleigh Club and seeing a Gazelle project thread on here. Beautiful frames, can't wait to see it.
Good luck!

Frame is splendid. Campag-equipped £250 build is money well spent; good luck with it
A serious Mondiale judging by the race number braze-on. -

First obstacle, a small one, front fork isn't recessed though the rear bridge is. Going to take a drill to it over the weekend. Never done it before but from reading up all I need is a 8mm HSS drill bit, a steady hand and maybe some fairy liquid.

How did the drilling go? I had to do exactly the same thing on a Gazelle frame last year. Took more care over the drilling process than I took over my university finals. Decent results though (with the drilling; not the finals).
Been looking for a road bike for a few months now, something steel with modern (ish) components that will take me over long distances, unfortunately am a little strapped for cash at the moment and everything I came across was either too expensive/not my size/someone got there before me. To take matters into my own hands am going to try and take advantage of some of the bargains that crop up on here (thanks forum) and build up my own for under 250 dabs. Anything left over will be donated to the forum (+£10) for being excellent.
I have so far amassed...
Gazelle champion mondial 531 F&F and headset (bb as well but wrong size) - £80 - it's bloody lovely
Campag mirage brifters, brakes, RD, FD- £25
Mirage FD was braze on which frame lacks so go a veloce clamp on FD to replace - £10
Campag chainset £30
Mirage hubs on open pros w/ cassette and rubino pro tyres - £40
That leaves me with £65 to get
Bars
Stem
BB
Seat post
Chain
Saddle ( I have a nice turbo on my daily so could swap that out for a beater)
Bar tape
Cables
Cable stops.
Can that be done....I'm gonna spend more money aren't I?
This is my first outing with campag so lots to learn and experiment with
Will post pics up shortly
