Ah yes that sounds likely. The 24v motor is supposed to be better than the one that came with the P3 2000 (which also used the sticky pad), and also works with the TT PSU which serves as a speed switcher as well.

Went for the motor upgrade and got a new rega bias 2 cartridge fitted ...totally worth it, feels really solid and sounds great.
I'd wholeheartedly recommend Billy Vee on Lee High Road to anyone needing some work done, super friendly guys and got everything sorted in a couple of days. No installation charge for the motor either!

Yeah its the RB300. I had a full service with a new black belt fitted last year so oil and bearing should still be ok. I did a bit of reading and it looks like the motor suspension belt could be the culprit.
The motor upgrade is direct mount so would solve that once and for all.
