  • What front hub/wheel you planning on running with the Spyre's @Dom? Careful of anything with a flange-to-flange over 59mm as you'll run into clearance problems with the caliper and spokes. The calipers measure up a bit wider than others due to the arm that extends over the body to acctuate both pistons. Shout if you need a 1mm/0.5mm rotor spacer to eek out a bit more clearance - I've got plenty.

  • Ah, damn. I've gone for Novatec D711SB/D712SB; according to their website the front is F.T.F. 61.6mm and the rear is F.T.F. 58.4mm.

Do you know if I'll be able to adequately space out the front, or should I be looking at alternative calipers?

  • You might be ok - it's then a matter of how much clearance you have between rotor and fork blade as you punt the rotor over with a spacer. Provided the fork's made correctly you should have 1-1.5mm to play with. You have to bare in mind that everything flexes a bit when loaded though so whilst it may clear everything fine in the workstand... it's a juggling act! Happy to send you some spacers but I'm not back in the UK until week after next.
