What time is it? Watches and horology

Some call it my sixth sense. I was approached by Lynn Faulds Wood to join the Watchdog team, but I refuse to go commercial.

Just bought a ticket for the SalonQP watch show next weekend.

Probably. I can't fathom the cost of most things as it is. Let alone watches.

Having a Comex is just like having a MOD issued watch. To some people, a watch having a history of real use and 'heritage' means more than buying a second hand watch bought by a yuppie on Bond St.

Personally, I can see the appeal in that, though think that appeal and the price increase that comes with it is just ridiculous. That and the fact that some Comex watches were issued to management and office staff, so your £20-50k watch may not have the provenance you think...

Also, I think the Comex dial is ugly and is way more of a negative than any benefit of the association.

My grandfather's old watch I inherited. 1963 Omega Seamaster de Ville. Still like wearing it on special occasions. Could do with a service soon though so going to check out the place at the end of the strand.

It's a B&R so probably. I'm guessing those watches are about 80mm dial? Standard sizing for them.

Did you see them at the Off The Rails event at the Truman Brewery? I was doing the photography there on Thursday and saw them then.

Just got 2 Grand Seikos back from being serviced plus light refurb, a 4522 and a 6145. They look like new, it really is quite amazing to think they're both 45 years old :)
