I'd upgrade the Rega if it were me (providing that the arm is the straight RB300 and not the curved one).
However first I'd check the oil and the bearing. Did you get the white belt or the standard black belt? I've heard of the white belt wearing quicker.

Yeah its the RB300. I had a full service with a new black belt fitted last year so oil and bearing should still be ok. I did a bit of reading and it looks like the motor suspension belt could be the culprit.
The motor upgrade is direct mount so would solve that once and for all.

I have both arms and when set up correctly I doubt you can hear the difference.

Howdy all, does anyone know if the rega 24v motor upgrade is worth doing? My planar 3 was running slow so I had it serviced, new belt etc last year but unfortunately its slowing down again so I'm thinking it could be the motor giving up.
I'm wondering whether I should persist with the planar 3 or just cut my losses and get something new. Keep hearing good things about the ProJect Debut Carbon, maybe worth a try...
