You can 't beat a big light. The bigger it is the less of your ride is slowed due to lack of seeing shit.
As @Emyr posted on the previous page - an mj-808 type light will give you a thousand lumens (?) and a decent battery pack for less than £30. You're also not locked into a proprietary battery either so you can upgrade or replace bits when needed.
