Watches which have been built with modern, synthetic oils, run for longer than they used to, without the oils gumming up and hardening.
If the watch is kept clean inside, then I would expect it to run happily for many years without having regular services. I wouldn't listen to anyone who tells you that you need a service every couple of years. If you are really unsure, get a watchmaker to pop it on a timegrapher and if need be, inspect the movement to see if it looks dry.
