52 is 5mm longer than the 50 - but the 52 has 1 degree steeper head tube angle, which make it less slack than the 50 and I'm quite sure the wheelbase of the 52 is shorter than the 50!
tl;dr
52

Someone owning a 52 measure wheelbase, then I will measure mine.
Now you made me feel curious.
I could have gone 52, but choosen 50 for wheelbase and not slaping my nutsack on tt. -
• #2154
The wheelbase on 52 is 3.41mm shorter than on the 50
I mocked up the frame geometries in RattleCad and substracted the numbers.

953 on my pc with alpina track forks, so 950 on 52?
-
• #2156
Yup

Thanks for the advice Thuekr, I hadn't worked out the wheelbase difference. In which case 52 sounds good - I also don't have a nutsack so don't have quite the same worries as DrEscroto

For the smaller people I would hit the Ronin instead of PC for more exciting angles and shorter wheelbase http://shop.goldsprint.de/product_info.php?info=p1024_goldsprint---ronin-track-frameset.html

Yeah sure, it doesn't look as incredible close up but basically just tape over then scalpel and score round the dropout.
Will take some tonight. -

I tried covering up some logos but I had a few issues with air bubbles (wide pvc tape) but I guess with more patience it could work. I also bought a different kind of tape with which I will try to recreate your back tubes covering, I hope you don't mind.
Here is a recent pic of my TC
I'm also thinking about getting a paintjob (red) for it but not yet sure whether I want to spend the cash on just a different color

Cool go for it dude, I just used electrical tape and pulled it round so it kinda stretched and overlapped itself.
Gives a ok finish nothing special, is looking a little worse for wear after putting up with 20 miles a day in recent weeks.
Your tc looks real nice, you could always just raw the frame yourself. Thats kinda like a new colour. That my plan when I get bored with mine.
The only thing I found when I covered the whole bike with black tape was that when I took it off it peeled a little bit of the logo's away so now there is a gap in one which is a little annoying.
This is it blacked out

Anyone ever fit a rear rack to their FXE/ Pre Cursa? Any recommendations?
-
• #2163
This.
Ronin is a little expensive compare to Precursa but the geometry is not too dissimilar to the MASH Parallex.

The ronin looks like a good buy, though yes it is steepee in price especially considering price doesn't include headset/seat post/postage.. Might be a tad steep for me.
Looks really nice in that pic though, what size is that one? And thanks for the advice guys!

Just pulled the trigger and finally ordered a pre Cursa. Looking forward to building it up once it arrives and riding.

Anyone has any advice on good chain tensioners you have used.
-
• #2170
don't bother with chain tensioners, just tighten the wheels correctly
-
• #2171
@chickenleaverpuller - I like the idea of keeping your Sainsbury's shopping list in your rear wheel spokes.
-
• #2172
I would, but I'm currently attempting to turn my Precursa into a Fixed TT bike and I don't think my Lidl list would help the aeros.

Any chain tensioners experience. Just pulling the wheel tight ain't enough.
I love the MKS chain tensioners but have heard they don't fit Aluminium drop outs?
Anyone's experience would be great b
