I've snapped my Good Grips garlic crusher. Obviously don't know my own strength.
Can anyone recommend a replacement model?

(You won't manage to snap this one. :) )

Wow, I struggle to break the Good Grips! how much garlic do you eat??

Revolutionise your garlic preparation technique with this:

That Knoblauchpresse is a beast! The Cromargan material sounds quite clever.
I love these unintentionally funny translated sites @umop3pisdn - I mean, who wouldn't want some 'Heritage for you Social Kitchen' :) This one would certainly be quick to clean.

Do you mean how much do I crush? Well on this occasion I suppose I stuffed about three cloves in, without properly peeling them first, and squeezed hard.

My parents are after a folding bike for use on canal towpaths while boating.
Something much cheaper than a second hand Brompton, but preferably still decent quality and easy to fold.

Afraid nearly all those folding bike within that price range will be dodgy, so best to go for those second hand Dahon that have yet to be recalled.

I've had no issues with my Presto (Dahon).

'Much cheaper' than a Brompton is a false economy. There are cheaper folders, but avoid going super cheap.
This is the best buyer's guide:

Actually, it's pretty thick, but also smooth, so clearly has you fooled. :)

I used to give exactly the same advice to potential buyers of folding bikes when I worked in a bike shop. I believed it (and still believe it) so much that I don't really know anything about the 'competition'. But I know the Giant Halfways and Kansi bikes that we also sold weren't much good. Thanks for the link.

While we are at, any authentic advise from an experienced user for a cucumber courgette peeler spiral slicer worthy to be bought?

Mrs Earthloop is very happy with our Garlic Twist, and it's much easier to clean than our old crusher. £13.40 from amazon.
Downside: while easy to clean, it's almost impossible to dry without leaving it lying around somewhere until it dries out by itself.

We got a 'spiralizer' a few months ago and I was very sceptical at first. Courgette spaghetti changed my mind. Haven't tried obliterating any other vegetables with it yet.

I saw one of these recently and was pretty impressed:

^^Wow, it looks lovely, it also reminds me a sort of tool from the inquisition age, which can call out the boy within me working with joy while experimenting with unresistant vegetables.

I've built my girlfriend a Pomp, and while setting up the cockpit she liked it best with a stack of spacers way up, a higher stack than the headtube itself, to give her a sit up and beg style position.
Is there any reason not to leave it like this if she likes it?
Apart from offending peoples eyes it should be fine right, it won't cause structural issues because of a lever effect on the headtube? -

Looks nice and a very clean fold. Would a decathlon let you take one for a spin in theory?

I believe so.

Get her some risers. As in big risers.

Not a good idea. I think 4cm is the maximum anyone will recommend for spacers. If you have to much, you are creating a long cantilever from your head tube to your bars. Thus, big bending moment in the steerer tube. You are risking it yielding and failing all together.
Get her some risers. Maybe consider a 17 degree stem pointing upwards too to reduce the stack some more.
tell me about it :'(
