The only reason I consider going tubular is carrying a tube under my saddle. Very euro-pro.

You can still do that with clincher.

That Moots was for sale, stupidly high asking price. All of the tubes can be used for fuel/water storage.

Might be so you can swap the trailer wheel for the front wheel. Looks like the front wheel also has a fixed cog for such wheel-swapping events

Yep, it was a bloke called Mike Curiak. He rode the thing unsupported twice, and actually managed to finish once.
Seems like a bit of a legend. The trailer bike was made to go to the South Pole.
