    • won Catford HC. On a 4.5kg fixed machine.
  • Anyone bought a set of TT brake levers but only need the one? Looking for a single brake lever to buy if possible.

  • Not sure what you need but I have a spare Tektro RX 4.1.

  • Not after anything special. That looks fine to me. I'll PM

  • Just taken this for the first spin, too slippery on the roads to relax into finding any sort of position on it but it feels real sprightly. Came in at 7.9kg with pleny of options for reducing mass later on. The weight of the bike, coincidently, is the same that I need to lose to get to my fighting weight for the season.

Did my first few TTs last year but the season was cut short by a broken collarbone, I achieved a PB of 23.17 on a dual carriageway on this terrifying machine. The position on the Dolan is far more confident but definitely not as low, and the very high BB is noticeably sketchy in the turns.

Looking forward getting some miles done on this ready for the first club 10 in March

  • Don't worry about the weight of the bike.

  • Nice coffee machine, but the VW will take some work! :)

  • sorry about the photobucket weirdness, I didn't edit the photo in response to that! The coffee machine is another project :)

  • What are toy talking bout.
    Coffee machines and VW's.

  • I edited that pic in photo bucket, linked to it, then the original came up which shows a lever espresso machine in the garage window. Not sure about the VW bit, but could be something as I do own a bay window.

Anyhow, that first post wasn't meant to be so weight-focused, need to do some mileage before I can comment on the position etc. Best thing so far is the tubs not parting company with the rims after my first glue job, and going bloody fast up hill with the cadence of a church clock.

  • You omit to mention what your gear ratio is. This is obviously essential information. :)

    Also:

    in the turns

Doing a TT with turns in it = doing it wrong. :)

  • 52 x 16 today, I've got a few rings and cogs to play with when I get to know what I'm doing. I'm most fond of the rolling country roadman courses, shame a chainwhip isn't convenient to carry in a jersey pocket.

  • Not sure about the VW bit, but could be something as I do own a bay window.

A yellow LHD one with rust in the cab door bottoms?

  • Got it now, you can get to my whole photobucket library. That van's for sale BTW, so's the Lo-Pro ;)

  • I was about to drop a load of cash on a TT bar with stacked armrests to follow the advice here about slamming the base bar but took a punt on these Zipp spacers for £12 on Ribble. They fit perfectly with my Deda clip-ons, probably most other aero bars too.

  • It's been a while, since writing off my Condor Stadio that appeared earlier in this thread, last year I finally got around to replacing it and racing again, this time a build around a used Isaac Velocity frame. Not as cool a build as the condor was but it's really quick :-) Run a 56x14 most of the time down here in Cornwall, it's not very flat else would probably be able to get away with a 13t :-)

Anyway, just thought I'd sling it up...bugger all on telly this evening ;-)

  • I'm a fan of the Xentis Mk1 TT wheels, used to have a front one for track racing. Surprisingly stable for TTs as well.

  • I'm sorry if this is a complete noon question but what is different between a road and TT bike? For instance could you have a TT bike with a road frame?

  • Geo tends to be different.

  • Steep seat tube angle, typically around 75-76degs and slack front end so it's less twitchy when forward on the extensions

  • First outing with the bike today. Very enjoyable ride around the local track. Apart from replacing the shallow training wheels and tyres what should be the first upgrade? (The too-large, heavy and un-aero frame will be replaced in the near future)
