• @hoops is getting squeezed by the ParcelForce triads. I've payed vat (20%) and £8 handling every time I've been stung by them.

  • Sounds about right amount

  • Got my 60mm superlight farsports tubulars for sale here:

  • Anyone had any experiance With Nextie. I'm taken by their fat bike rims. But they also have some very nice looking wide 60mm tubulars......

  • Will probably read this thread more in depth, but thinking getting some crabon from this website aside from ebay

    http://www.redeaglesbike.com/Straight-pull-R36-carbon-hub-25mm-Width-U-Shape-50mm-Clincher-carbon-wheels-p67405.html

anyone has used or heard any feedback from using carbon from mainland china?

  • I got stung by Fedex fees after the fact when I lived in Japan and shipped all my snowboarding gear over. They set a Japanese law firm * on me to collect the debt. Which quite obviously shit me right up as I had only just moved to the country! Needless to say I paid, immediately.

(*) It was also most embarrassing having to take the letter to my Japanese teacher at the time to get help translating it.

  • If you're looking for a disc braked road frame they're great, and cheap! I had one and would highly recommend it. I only got rid of it because the governing body here got arsey about me racing with disc brakes..... I'd get another tomorrow

cheers @blacklisted looking good. apparently it's flyxii's making.. Would preferably order directly from a manufacturers website(but couldn't find one) and also would be nice if the maker would offer a warranty for the frame.. hence been looking for hong fu.

what size is that and how tall are you? I think the 58 might just fit me. loving the curving specialized-like top tube

  • HongFu is a reseller as well ya know

    edit:

Well maybe they aren't. Internet isn't giving me a concrete answer. There are some people on WW who confirm this though.

  • according to their website they make their frames and parts in-house..

  • Guess we have to trust them on that. I'm looking for a frameset as well. Torn between the FM296 and the FM066 or FM069. Not sure about which geo would suit me the best and the difference between Toray T700 and T1000.

  • So close to pulling the trigger on a hong fu FM066-SL and whacking some Force 22 on it. Maybe ill wait for the new year...

  • FM069 has some FD issues with 6800 check WW thread ..

  • Yes I read that, thanks for the heads up anyway. I won't have trouble using 5800 or DA will I?

  • Ok so has anyone put in proper mileage on a set of all carbon clinchers yet and lived to tell the tale?

If so please give me some details, pre built? Any problems? Seller? Price?

It's hard times not being able to afford even second-hand Mavic Cosmic's.

    Many thanks :)

you'll have to imagine the cranks on that

  • (in response to mk1mark)
I did here http://www.lfgss.com/conversations/227706/ and have lived and ridden to tell the tale.

  • Would bang (out some miles on that)

  • anyone know about the rear on the disc frames, 130 or 135mm?
Also interested on the hs standard on the tapered ht frames.

E: atleast the HF-FM079 is 135mm rear. the headset appears to be of drop-in hiddenset standard.

  • What pads should I spuff my money on? Anyone using Swiss top black prince pads?

Did do a little search but not many recent entries on the issue of pads.

  • Reynolds blue

  • I'm using Black Prince pads at the moment. They're OK. Nothing special but no worse than Zipp Tangente Platinum Pro. And slightly harder wearing. Still shit in the rain.

  • Exuse the off-topic post dredge

How did you get on with the singe-ring set-up? What kind of ring did you use and was chain drop an issue?

  • Well that was a very old post you found. The ring was the stock ring that comes with the s300 crankset. So 3/32 width, deeper teeth and no shift pins and ramps like you get on a geared chainring. Chain never feel off.

Got on with it just fine, have been on double ring for a few years now though as single is a bit crap when you get to >10% or so

  • Cool, I was interested in doing it because there aren't a whole lot of hills here in the Netherlands. And because I like the clean look / weight savings / simplicity, not worth the cost if I'd need a narrow / wide ring but I'll give it a go. Cheers
