Tall guy pushing a blue fixed thing with chunky forks about a foot of seatpost down from Vue towards The Bell about an hour ago.

re. the Castle mall frankenbike, it's mine! Thross (and others) we've met-I guess you might've figured that out now. The Sunday DH ride Straggler is mine too, and I was atop it. In my defence as a hero-never-to-be-met, I did once have Gandalf rivalling beard and waist length hair, but I swapped them for two kids and a morgage...

Fantastic first post Bob. Good to run into you earlier too; hopefully the DH rides will continue in a couple of weeks time. Now change your username so we all know who you are!

Also, spotted a guy on what looked like a ratty Pre-Cursa, pursuit bars, either a gumwall or an orange front tyre, messenger bag, riding round the roundabout at the top of Unthank/Earlham at 8.50 this morn. Was going to DAS, but I hadn't filtered, so got cold feet shouting from behind a couple of cars.

"was going to DAS.." seems to be quite a common thing with you. Go for it! Do people actually ever shout it anywhere, or just think about it and post on the internet? Ive never shouted it at anyone..

I think I'd do it if I saw someone I recognised and knew I was in earshot, but that's unlikely in Norwich! I could count on one hand the amount of times I've chanced upon someone who I knows rides fixed out and about on their bike...
I've had it shouted at me by @laurenced once, but sadly not in time to react :(

I've gone to do it a few times and then thought, likelihood is that these guys have no idea what LFGSS is and I'm going to look very NFN.
-
• #1262
Ahaha, yeah, and there's that too.
-
• #1263
Next time I see you, I'm going to shout it at you even if you're not on your bike!!

Anyone want to explain the meaning of the verb 'to DAS' ?
-
• #1267
DAS:
Acronym, verb. A call from one bicyclist to another, imploring them to To 'Do A Skid' by the locking of the legs on their fixed wheel bicycle, and therefore proving their worth as a true fixie lord.
Colloquial. Also used as a general greeting between riders of the fixed gear clique, most notably/frequently within the boundaries of London's famous London. -

white cinelli mash locked up outside the mix on unthank the other day?
-
• #1270
Mash is Harbercue's, not sure if he made the vBulletin jump...
-
• #1272
Ha! Sarah just said "does he just sit and stare out the window all day?" We're on to you..
-
• #1273
Hahahaha!! I just happened to look up as you went round the roundabout...cheeky sod!
Anyway, if I get paid to look out of the window all day, who's winning?!
-
• #1274
Totally true!
-
• #1275
That wasn't meant to sound as arrogant as it did!!
Are you going to the DH open eve / exhibition on Tues?
Black fixed on the overpass by Anglia square about two hours ago. @laurenced?
