The Germans in my club recommend Red brifters with Force.

I trust A23 rims at lower spoke counts. I don't mind having heaver rims if they're stronger, These are never going to be mega light wheels, that's what carbon are for.
I actually really like that stem so it's staying* for the moment.
*well I might get a 130mm version

I have a spare Kalloy (110mm) if you want to try it out ..

@bmx_fred @TooTallTim
Hmm maybe I'll look in to them then, thanks for the tip off. -
• #57
Well, the cap fits in the SuperSix forks so I think it would fit, if you've got one going spare I would gladly take it, thanks.
If I do get other brakes, I would just buy the groupset without the force brakes sorry.
-
• #58
I'll bare that in mind, thanks.

• #59
Have you consider Archetype rims?
-
• #60
I don't reckon the archetypes, even in dark grey ano would suit the dale. And they only go to 24 right?
-
• #61
The nicest bit of New Force is the crank. They do a BB30 version ya know.
Those Px brakes can die in a ditch on fire with that stem.
-
• #62
I was thinking have it in black ( decal removed if required)
Plus they do loads of holes for spotters height range.
-
• #64
Fuck off all this talk of Kinlin or Archetype bollocks
Ardennes or Pacentis or 'winter carbon'
-
• #65
Wiggle has archetypes? when did they start stocking them?
Definitely would remove the decals - also don't like the rough texture on the black rims. a smooth satin or polished black would be nicer. Anyway, that's purely aesthetics, they're nice rims to ride on.
-
• #66
^^That's more like it.
-
• #67
Winter carbon?
-
• #68
Fuck Archetypes, there's something about them I just hate, I seem them on every other bike these days too.
If I was actually serious about winter wheels I'd get HED Belgiums, but that would explode my budget. I was thinking 20/24 with the A23s.

Well that seals the deal for me the howard, i'll get some!
-
• #70
Leftfield rim suggestion: Stan's Grail. <--- eh, don't have a brake track. Duh. Alphas then.
I've no idea why anyone would want brakes that don't work though
-
• #71
Fuck Archetypes
Ya this. Aren't A23s noodley as fuck at low spoke count though? Gonna feel shit on a lightweight stiff race frame.
-
• #72
Well I spoke to a wheel builder, he said i'd be ok on that spoke count unless I go mad for cobbles. I suppose I could go 24/28 ...
-
• #73
They're a bit pricey at almost £80 a pop, I was thinking more like £50 a rim
-
• #74
Winter carbon?
i.e. spend all your pocket money on brake pads
-
• #75
Yeah. Winter Carbon.
Carbon wheels to ride through the winter.
What's the problem?
That's impossible! Even for a computer!
