  • People in cars never appreciate people on bikes being helpful. It's like that feeling when you agree with a person who is a bit angry and they assume you're contradicting them when you're actually just trying to cool things down a bit.

  • Yh i've seen on numerous occassions people with open petrol valve caps but I never close them as they will probably moan at you for slamming into their car. Fuck em.

  • Picked up the wrong keys this morning, only realised when I got to work and tried to lock my bike up. What a tit. My bike's now in a cupboard.

  • Good thing you took a cupboard to work then

  • ^ nyuknyuk

  • petrol valve caps

    :)

  • Monday morning I told a bloke in a shit transit van that his rear lights were wired all wrong. Indicators came on when he braked and vice versa. He seemed genuinely grateful but I had the suspicion that he already knew, probably been driving it like that for ages.

NO THEY DON'T, HOW CAN YOU SAY THAT? PEOPLE lN CARS HATE BElNG HELPED BY CYCLISTS. YOU DON'T EVEN PAY ROAD TAX.

  • Wood Wharf in Canary Wharf is unnecessarily pedestrianised (though I'm happy to dismount up the footbridge) so I asked the security guard what would happen if I just continued on, what could she do?
    "We would stop you."
"But what if I kept riding?"
    "We would pull you aside."
    "And if I kept riding?"
"We would tell your place of work." [nb they have no right to ask for ID]
    "And if I kept riding?"
    "We would pull you aside!"
    "And then?"
    "We would bang you."
"What do you mean you would bang me?"
"You know if you want to complain here is the address of the main office. I have just been told to tell people not to ride through here."

I think she must have meant bang me up. Anyway I'll leave my rant about privitised land, security guards playing dress up like law enforcement and the whole troubling private operation that is Canary Wharf for another time, but at least be warned: no riding on pavements/pedestrianised areas in Canary Wharf or else they will take you aside and bang you.

  • they're particularly man-handely along the south bank. seems the entire industry is predicated on the notion that people presume an imbued sense of authority when said rent a cop dons a hi-viz jacket and carries a walkie talkie.

  • Took Tube, read Metro. #howtheotherhalflive

  • ^^^Was this security guard attractive and where exactly was she standing?

    Research purposes of course.

  • ^youre still typing? Whos that aimed at?!

  • That's probably killed any chance of debate.

    Read.

    I was talking shit.

There are three posts, all are rubbish, you could quite easily judge the first of the three is the original one. Anyway, new day new dangers. My commute was incident free.

  • The BMX Bandit victim is really milking his 15 minutes.

  • Which raises an interesting thought. Let's say someone rides to work every day. Say they are lucky enough to get five weeks' holiday a year, plus Christmas, and a couple of days off with a hangover or whatever. That's 45 weeks x 5 days, or 225 journeys into work a year. Suppose they perform the exact same flashy manoeuvre every morning, and come to absolutely no harm for four years in a row. Clearly then, they are an expert, and their judgement of what is safe is sound.

The thing is, would you fly in a plane, if that plane crashed and burned without warning on average every 901 journeys?>

a 1/901 chance of it crashing is a pretty small chance

    8/10 would fly

  • Very rude people on the overground this morning.

  • What about evenings?
