I'd like to buy a bag from the states. My options are send it to wherever I am (where the postal system is in chaos right now), or send it to the UK and have someone who's meeting me bring it.
I've been stung a couple of times with imports, but the main ballache is the ridiculous "handling fee" / parcel-farce-hussle. Obviously I don't want someone who's doing me a favour to have to then pay extra fees.
Is there any way to have a declaration to prepay the fee so as to avoid the handling fee?
Or is it just worth the punt and send some £s to the person picking it up?
E-bay now has an international program that deals with this, so you won't get stung with fees. But of course that depends if they have what you need...

Bonus question, is there an EU supplier of anything like (and as nice) as the Tom Bihn Smart Alec?
