Did you tap your hed axle for bolts rather than track nuts?
He did, using my tap. If your cones and lock nuts are M9×1 you can just swap to a Sora axle (buy the whole hub for under a tenner) and tap that, it's already the right length and bore. The current HED aluminium front axle isn't suitable for tapping as it has hexagonal holes for the Allen key used to adjust/dismantle it, so there's not enough material to make threads. I had a custom Ti axle and stainless steel cones/locknuts made for mine, because I'm a tart.

Argos aero forks are so rad. It's a bit scary when you take your front wheel out and see how much the blades flex with no axle in between though!
