When I lived in Derby there was a stall in the town centre which sold bags of 10 little donuts which they'd cook on request for you and then sprinkle on sugar and cinnamon. You'd eat them while they were still hot, they were ace. The mascot of the stall was some sort of duck, I think. Great days.

When I was a kid we used to get dragged to the Queensgate shopping centre in Peterborough, which is a shit hole in a shit hole. A black hole of shitness. Anyway, the best thing about Queensgate shopping centre was (maybe still is?) a doughnut shop that cooked the doughnuts on a conveyor belt in the window. Ring doughnuts only (3/10, could try harder), but still so magical to watch.
