We're up to the stage of reliance on solicitors too.
Ours received the draft contract 6 days after the vendor's solicitor sent it. When our estate agent called up to find out where it was before it had arrived, they said they had sent it second class, and that 'that's how they send all their post'.
Luckily there isn't much on the contract or in the other documentation which looks like it will cause trouble, so assuming searches etc. go alright we're getting somewhere I think.
This part is just frustrating, there's an empty house we want to move into, they want to sell it and we have the money, yet it's still going to be weeks (at least) before we can get in it.
