I don't think it matters a great deal.
I've just speculated and tried to filter for an certain stereotype of person.
Come along on a gaspipe conversion if you want.
Were just trying to avoid it being too "bikey", hence the preference for non-roadie/overshoe/aero-helmet type stuff. Like I said, it's not about "bikes" per se.
