• Hi all,

I had this frameset in storage for over 3 years now, I bought two complete bikes from the original owner who had these made to measure by Bernard Carré in the late 70's / early 80's.

Both bikes were nicely kitted so I broke them into spares and this one was fitted with:

    1. Campagnolo Record Drillium Brakeset (sold)
    2. Simplex Super LJ front derailleur (sold)
    3. Gipiemme wheels with Dual Spring hubs (I still have these hubs & spokes)
    4. Mavic 680 front derailleur (sold)
    5. Dura-Ace Ax Rear Derailleur (sold)
    6. Gipiemme Strada 175mm crankset (I still have it)

Although the tubing is unknown, it is a light steel frameset with great RGB lugs (especially that seat cluster which is atypical for B.Carre) and that brake bridge. Great workmanship. No stickers so no way of knowing... No frame numbers can easily be seen, maybe if you fully strip the paint.

The frameset size is 53cm top tube by 53cm seat tube with an horizontal top tube once build.

The seatpost size is 26.2mm and is tighten via an allen bolt.
The bottom bracket thread is french (the sale includes a Campagnolo bottom bracket in good working order and as can be seen, not stuck).
The fork thread is standard BSA.
The dropouts are Gipiemme (spacing 100mm front, 126mm rear).
The saddle is a Vuelta Kolor which matches the colourscheme.

The paintwork is in an acceptable state, although I would recommend a full respray. There are no ding or dents apart from the one of the top tube rear cable eyes which looks a bit pushed in.

Since I can't name the tubing, it is hard to justify a high price so I have priced it as if I was selling the Campagnolo french threaded BB alone.

£40 takes the lot away! (Frameset, Campag BB, saddle)

If you are interested in the Gipiemme Dual Sprint Hubs or the Gipiemme Strada cranks, I can add them for another £40.

Pick up from Brixton, I can also deliver in Putney.

    Cheers

    Vince
