Not sure how many microns but no thinker than regular than kids stickers (oddly enough the only frame of reference I can think of as I was recently attacked by my niece).
I bought my stuff in A4 sheets but a cursory ebay search shows it's available in loads of sizes. If applied properly, it's a bugger to get off again.
