My Meindl hiking boots are in need of some TLC. However, I'm in PerĂº and even if I could find some sort leather treatment I don't want to have to carry it or spend much money on it.
My options seem to be;
Clean and then ask a shoe-shinner on the streets to polish then. I'm guessing shoe polish will have some sort of nutrients,
Find a substitute that I'll use in my general travelling - moisturiser seems like the obvious choice.
Would using sun cream or body moisturiser fuck them up? Are there any other usually cheap supermarket substitutes?
... Or am I best off going with the shoe shinners?
I also might be able to get someone to bring something out from the UK for me, does anyone know of anything that comes in tinny sachets?
