Another pulse of rain (tail end of a weather front) coming up from south of London I think. Cue more overshoes debate

I'm so over shoes.

I do own a few pairs of Oakleys but rarely wear them.
Boast post.
Washing up liquid has worked to an extent on downhiller's goggles for years, although that fancy hydrophobic mega coating stuff is meant to be the shit.

Rain x is better than soap, personally I used pledge furniture polish.

Is it? Fuckers on the dole own Oakleys. I bought mine second hand off ebay or at near cost through a dealer and I don't like the ebay ones and I've never even tried the new ones.
I am way fucking sexier than everyone on this forum though. #properboastpost

Blissful commute in today, in pitch black darkness. I think I prefer it that way.
Way homes gonna be shit though, so much rain.
(And traffic- the way home yesterday was like London at times). -

Being sexier than a bunch of socially inept internet nerds is hardly boasting is it?

I thought a lot of us socialised quite well. Oh, and then I became a TT hermit. Point taken.

My pedal straps are terrible in the wet (BLB Lockdown), what do other people use / recommend?
To be honest I'm thinking of getting rid of straps altogether but I've just switched from SS to Fixed and not sure if the straps are a help or hindrance.

Clipless.
-
• #2788
Definite hindrance, clipless would be a hell of a lot easier for you

^ That'll be why.

The problem I see with clipless is that I'll need a dedicated shoe and then I'll have to walk round town or the pub in cleats or take a bag with me with trainers in. Straps allows me to go on a decent ride, or go to the pub already in my fancy gear (jeans and t-shirt).

Felt good this morning.
Legs felt strong.
Felt fit.
Moved nicely in traffic.Although I do need to strip and completely degrease the drivetrain.

I got let out of a side road by an original Lotus Elan this morning. Today was a good day.

It is more fun to do this job naked, unfortunately my workshop is getting pretty cold now.

This! Although not as fast given I am doing fasted commutes now.
First day in gabba too; that thing is lovely (almost) cant wait for rain on the way back.

Commuted using only my left leg this morning, because my right ankle is injured so it's that or the train, and I've been meaning to do some work to correct my right leg dominance anyway. Bloody hell, I've never worked so hard to go so slowly before. The left leg feels tried but not destroyed, which I think is a good sign. Train tomorrow though, or I risk picking up an overuse injury on my one remaining good leg.

Going from Golders Green to central and back each day on a pre cursa. Either my knees or my slim jeans will be destroyed by the end of this year, I'm sure
