that is precisely where I saw Joy Division,
a timid student wandering down from Stoke Bishop to a bit of real Bristol.Trinity Hall staged a series of wonderful gigs;
Magazine supporting Bauhaus, (loudest concert I ever attended),
Teradrop Explodes
and others I couldn't get to & cannot remember.Did you see Killing Joke, they played the (sprung-floored) dancehall
above the Carwardines teashop at the top of Park Row?Scariest moment: during 'War Dance' every one of the audience seemed to be jumping in rhythm and the floor was (seemingly) deforming by about 8 inches.

Ooh the internet. March 5, 1980, Trinity Hall, Bristol. That was a whole year after the Costello/Voidoids show. I interviewed Robert Quine many years later and he was ace.
