  • I've some nice shimano 600 aero pedals with cleats, PM me if interested.

  • the dots on the turbo are actually holes, it'll look nice here if white like in the picture.
Campagnolo didn't make 20cm+ aero seatposts (c-record era), but maybe some recent brands reproduced the style. In that era they didn't need much seatpost length :)

  • PM'd

@Breso Thanks for the info about the seatpost that's gonna save a lot of time. I presume its the same story with different makes.

  • I'm not sure if a black seat and grips would be better though?

  • delete

  • Do you have a groupset in mind already? I would start from there first, then when group/wheelset is complete you can look for a saddle (based on what I find already comfortable) and then finishing kit (bartape, straps, cables, etc)

  • Forgot to say, are you going to convert this frame? Not sure how you are going to adjust the chain tension with these dropouts... this frame deserve gears!

  • Yeah you kind of lost my interest when I saw that you are converting this one.. Please build it up geared, it will be a sick machine. See mine on the previous page.

  • I'm afraid thats not going to happen. I much prefer fixed gear, due to the increased control, the more personal riding experience and despite the fact the frame is a road frame it will be a fixed gear. The seller also gave me a specific gear ratio for when going single speed (48,16) which gives a good chain tension. If its still too loose I can fiddle around with half links...

  • If you really like fixed gear bikes you should have looked for a more specific frame I think... unless you got it for really cheap :)
Plus all those cable guides, dt aero shifter braze-on, wrong rear spacing, holes everywhere while fixed/brakeless (I assume it will be) will send it straight to anti.
I repeat, everybody can do what they feel like, but I can't understand why paying attention to saddle, cages and seatpost when the whole build will be awkward from the beginning.
If the plans are to make it fixed, don't bother too much about the choice of the right saddle colour :D

And we are not saying that geared is better than fixed or viceversa, but with this frame you should go for gears, no other choices imo

  • I do agree with you in the matter that it would have been better if the frame was a track frame than a road frame both aesthetically and practicality wise. However, as you said everybody can do as they see fit regarding their own bike builds.

Primarily, the need for a track lo pro frame over a road frame rapidly deteriorated during my search for a lo pro frame at a reasonable price leading me to buy this frame.
In addition, this frame has my dream colour-skeme; something I had been looking for since I first caught sight of a lo pro bike. This perfect colour-skeme (IMO) lead me to beleive that it outweighed the few aesthetical mis-haps: the braze ons.
With regards to how you ponder upon how I can still pay attension to the saddle colour, I noticed that the saddle was only slightly larger than all the braze ons put together thus leading me to prioritise the saddle colour over the four or five small bits of metal that on this bike have been made to be almsot as discrete as possible.

You may see this as a road only build however I've seen many a road lo pro conversions and can tell you that in my opinion it is possible to convert a road lo pro without it looking like absolute crap. If you'd be happy putting it in anti porn, fine. However it would take quite a lot more than the concept of it being fixed for me to do the same.

I hope this has answered or fufilled you're confusion. :)

P.S. I will not be going brakeless.

  • fill your boots mate. my other concorde (same dropouts braze ons etc.) gave me endless enjoyment over the last couple of years riding it fixed. It's not as though you stop it being able to be a tt machine later on

  • Thanks

Small update : polished (kind of) my stem so now its quite shiny. Will post pictures when its sunny again.

  • I know you want to ride fixed but I'm going to say this:

    Needs geaaarsssss!

Ok sorry now go on building :).

  • Will you be just able to use 48-16? Hope you don't have skids in your mind, apart from that it's a nice ratio.

  • Haha. Yeah sorry about that. Though it may have alternate incarnations.

  • No I've never really been a skidding guy. And I'm sure there are other ratios that will wor . Just some maths to do. Also if the chain stretches I'll be going 48- 17. Probably won't make a difference but yeah.

  • Thanks; that website is really useful. I actually have loads of options now.
    Thanks man.

  • Pictures of the stem, I know none actually cares but just an update.

    From:

    to:

I don't really think you can see much of a difference on the pictures but it is a lot more shiny.

  • fixed conversions can definitely be cool.. here is my conversion from last year:

but i really think that this concorde would be a beaut with gears

  • ^ what gear ratio is that, looks big.

  • that was just a standard double chainring at a 53t onto a magical 19t

  • Thanks but its still gonna be fixed. May be changed later on in future though.

  • Some updates should be coming up soon: basically I've found a saddle.
