It's a plastic outer rather than fabric - so I'm hesitant to put holes in it.

Stevo - I'd forgoten you did that, it's what I had in mind. How thick is the vinyl?

Not sure how many microns but no thinker than regular than kids stickers (oddly enough the only frame of reference I can think of as I was recently attacked by my niece).
I bought my stuff in A4 sheets but a cursory ebay search shows it's available in loads of sizes. If applied properly, it's a bugger to get off again.

Will these still have a 44mm head tube, and are you doing anything different to the steel forks to make it fit smoothly?
-
• #582
This is going to use a 3T Luteus Team CX fork (as I had one to hand) which is a tapered steerer - so yes, 44mm headtube with inset race at the top and external race at the bottom.

Oh, I thought you were also going to have a steel fork as well... must be getting confused :s

Did think about it, but decided to go the carbon route.

Nice lathe. And milling machine. Sod the frames...
-
• #594
That lathe was, how shall I put this, challenging, to rescue from the suburban garage which it was lurking in out in a Sussex village.
My new Path Racer is in that group as well, I am excite.

Have you got a close up of how the dynamo cable enters the frame? I'm thinking about taking a drill to my frame.
-
• #596
I have not, I'm afraid.
We used a stainless steel plate, diamond shaped and curved to fit the tube- that is brazed onto the tube, then both are drilled though, then the frame goes off to paint.
This gives the edge of the hole some protection, and allows the Di2 frame grommet some thickness which means they seat properly.

Any word how long the fork modding will take?
-
• #598
I've just read through all of this, great build, a lot of thought has gone in to this.

What's new?
Fabric might be better if you're prepared to put a smidge more time into it than just sticking it on: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Black-High-Visibility-Reflective-Sewing-On-Fabric-Tape-50mm-Width-5-Lengths-/151068871391?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&var=&hash=item232c680adf
You could use textile glue if you can't be bothered with the faff of using a needle.
