I suppose I'd be onboard with more campaigns warning people against lies from people smugglers. Much of the problem isn't just that they are poorer in the 3rd world, it's also that they are also sold a pack of lies by criminal gangs. You hear of people who pay more money for being stowed inside a deathtrap than I paid for my MA degree, money the migrants could have spent much more efficiently sorting out their lives at home.
To spread the word in the usual migrant countries could be quite cheap I reckon. Not with this poster though, it seems more like an attempt by the OZ government to please xenophobes voters.

A lot of the people who pay smugglers are legitimate asylum seekers, fleeing Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, South Sudan etc
I don't think they can just 'sort out their lives' at home.

So England, in response to Scotland staying in the UK, plans to separate itself further from Scotland.

In response to enough of the undecided voters being swayed towards "no" by last minute devo-themed promises despite devo-max not having been allowed as a selectable option.
Plus the 45% of the 84% turnout and the 16% who don't care enough either way to vote, makes 39+16=55% of eligible voters are either pro-independence or don't care.

So the 'terror plot' foiled in London recently was apparently going to be an attempt to assassinate Tony Blair.
Oh.
Not sure I can give my true thoughts on that without bringing suspicion on myself.
-
• #32370

is it right to support terrorism sometimes ? shame they didn't succeed etc etc

"A car rests on its roof after it flipped over in a crash in north London today."
Yeah as they tend to nowadaysFlipping cars are pretty common in Islington:
I saw this a year or so agoCaused by driving too fast through the infrastructure there:
Which may be why they have bought in 20mph across the borough

What they decided to do here was remove the chicane that slows the traffic down and instead let them use the previously segregated cycle lane as a bit of a run-off if they were going too fast.

Reminds me of this, i doubt they are that creative minded mind.
