  • What an amazing project. I wonder if there is anything more rare than this frame? Any idea how much of these were built?

  • I did some research:
Francesco Moser started working on this frame right after he attended to Obree's attempt on 1993, producing few prototypes (the first wasn't even painted and the geo was slightly different), around 4-5 according to the pictures taken on various museums, exhibitions and his personal collection.
In 1994 he attempted the to break the record when 43 years old (he broke his previous record, but not Boardman's) and right after a Pro cyclist from Rome he wanted to have his own 1994 hour record Moser frame, ordering it custom from the Moser dealer located in his city, and he had it painted with the blue scheme, and not the pink as Moser's one.
He was a one off custom order, made by F.Moser's builders.
I called the shop in Rome and he said that there are not other of these built.
Later the bike was sold to a guy, that after years he managed to sell it to Tokyo Fixed Gear (we are talking about 2008-2009).
I asked to the guys at Kinoko, they did say that they sold it but none of them remember any particular/history about this frame, I can't figure out why, as you don't see anything like this frame coming in and out of a shop so often.
He was sold to someone that the last year moved abroad, and left the frames to a friend asking him to sell them for whatever a buyer would offer.
My starting offer was ridiculously low (if i tell you how much you would REALLY hate me), but he accepted and now it is with me :)
