The obvious problem with the Kushtown jersey is that it's a knock off of a concept already done with more panache somewhere else: the sofa-fabric inserts look a bit gratuitous.

Somebody else stapled High Times centerfold stoner kid wank fodder to the pockets of their jerseys? And with panache? #trichomes

Brings to mind those T-shirts they sell in Next and the like, proclaiming how much the wearer likes beer. You never see a bloke in one and think "That's a surprise, I'd assumed he was Straight Edge".

elegance, refinement, understatement are all subjective

Also, together, they sound like the catchline for some bullshit 'sartorial' menswear tumblr and I want nothing to do with them.

I was actually thumbing through my copy of Mythologies at lunch. One of my favourite things about Barthes is his distaste for Elle magazine.

Ahh Relativism, the enemy of any attempt at rational understanding of the world around us. I think there are absolutes in terms of taste, style, and understatement (for us, in our plane of existence, on earth, in the western hemisphere, amongst rational people, who aren't Jody Highroller). I just don't think any of us know what they are.
