  • Beautiful part of the world to be cycling, but those a-roads are pretty grim! My GF's mum lives in Peebles so I've done quite a bit of cycling around there (both on the roads and at Glentress) - massively recommend this route if you want to go out that way but avoid the cars, the road over the hills is stunning and the descent down to Innerleithenn is breathtaking. There's then 6 miles of very pretty freshly-tarmacced traffic-free path into Peebles following the Tweed, plus you go very near the Traquair Arms if you want to stop for refreshment... http://www.mapmyride.com/gb/peebles-sct/peebles-to-edinburgh-route-328422383

    Does this route take you through Gorebridge yeh?
    This may well be my next longer distance cycle as I'll be avoiding the A703 by all means.
