  • This was epic bargain at Sigma warehouse clearance; couldnt resist .. brand new; frame weighs at 1180g fork is 490g uncut 1 1/8

Not sure if I should keep/build or let go .. if I keep I'd move everything from here to this. Not sure what I'll gain if I do that .. internet points maybe.

  • its awful if you ask me, get rid

  • thanks Thuekr and Bonor.

although this is a bit childish but there's a neat trick for always having rear light on your bike if you sometimes forget to attach your main one. Buy that bike wheel light from one of the poundshops, got this from the one in woodgreen. Then cut it to suit your saddle and attach it to the railings, if they are exposed like mine:

  • Short chainstays are short

  • sure it's not a 650c?!?!??!?!

    #clownbiek

  • Will ebay for profit

  • Covering an LED with translucent silicone like that makes it much harder
to see, not much of a light.

  • on static it will not be that visible to other road users but if you put it in blinking mode, I can guarantee you, you will be noticed on the road.

  • Some tweaking to do, find a seatpost with the good diameter and GO ;)

  • HI-RES HERE

  • Nice Thrust! Looks like it's to small for you, think you should sell it to me.

  • Too small? Nah mate, it's just perfect. ;)

  • With the weather drawing in, it's time for mudguards. And as my fixeh frame only has clearance for 23c it's time for a spot of puppy murdering. Next job, grind off the race tag and fill the internal routing...

  • Why bother? you may want to run a rear brake

  • Why? I live in York - no hills...

(Obviously not doing any cutting, BTW)

  • Paint it orange

  • Adding it to the list. Got some 'espresso' wheels on order.

Anyone know the pantone code for 'baby blue'?

  • Thanks, I'll look into this! I was just going with the recommendations from the fitter.

  • I'd have all the parts from the Chinvelo on the Rychtarski... but that's me, and I'm not able to ride in the low position you're after.

  • Why the hell didn't I know about this forum yet?
Here's my fixed gear/singlespeed conversion. Please note that my country is poor as fuck so don't expect anything fancy.
    Original bike
    Fixed/SS
Even tho I have already sold the wheelset and some other components as I'm rebuilding this. Main factor will be usability over good looking.

  • soon come

    (hopefully)

  • Question: are Ksyrium Elite ok for CX? I'm about 12.5 stone. I ask because I have some with pretty worn rims currently sat on a commuter but they're light as owt, so ideal for cross. Also, 28c tyres ok on them? They're the 2011 ones I think, so standard width rim I imagine.

  • People do ride CX on those rims, even with wide tyres, but worn rims probably not the best idea to ride on.

  • Cheers. They've got life left in them but I wouldn't like to do any long, fast descents on roads on them. They'll be fine for what I plan to do (training and maybe a couple of races if the training goes well) I reckon. A blown sidewall on a muddy field is less of an issue than on a 45mph descent in the Yorkshire Dales.

  • So.. Two options.
Find a CX fork and make Gangsta into SSCX-esk ripper.

    OR

road fork make it full fixie skidder (alle Eamesy's) and save for a geared CX/adventure bike
