• Regretfully for sale, as I need to raise some quick funds to go towards my daughter's 21st birthday present, is my titanium Airbourne lancaster.
This was originally a 26" wheeled bike, but in a moment of clarity, I fitted the new wheels from my salsa spearfish to it, with some cyclocross tyres, and some excellent Deore disc brakes.....this totally transformed the ride. This thing absolutely flies.
It just isn't getting used, as my spearfish is so good.....I also am struggling with 15 bikes+loads of spares and tiling tools, in a single garage....this is the beginning of something of a cull!
I'll put the sizes up later, but it's large....and it has a very long top tube, designed for XC racing.
It has XTR front and rear mechs, XT chainset and shifters (3x9), and Sram PG990 cassette with 991 chain, all with loads of life left in them.
The selle XP 135gms saddle is perched on top of a 27.2 Thomson long seatpin, the stem is a Salsa one off my 'fish and the bars are slightly cut down risers (can't remember the brand ) with foam grips that look like wood......that's correct, with grain and everything. There is a lovely chris king no thread set in red, obviously and thiscompliments the forks perfectly which are Manituo R7 absolute MRD, and were nearly £700 new....I have the receipt somewhere.....and are one of the lightest 80mm forks you can get.
There are no dents, cracks or re-welds, and it's been pampered ...my long term plan, was to fit dirt drops, levers and brakes to suit, and make it one of those gravel bikes, that all the hip kids are talking about......

As it says in th title, £500 collected from bishops Stortford.....it's well worth that complete, and I've been offered that by my neighbour, but I couldn't stand to see that twat riding it!

  • I've been offered that by my neighbour, but I couldn't stand to see that twat riding it!

  • Bargain though!

  • :0)
You know what I mean though, right?
    Like an ex-girlfriend......sorta

  • Oh, and it has rear rack mounts.... Put some salsa forks on, it's a perfect tourer.....

  • bargain and very nice!

  • Thanks guys....if this doesn't go soon, I'll pull it and sell something else. It's 18" on the seat tube, CtoC, but 60cm top tube CtoC.....works well for me at 6' with 36" inside leg....

  • bump

  • Thanks fella :0)

If anyone wants to come and have a go, there are some lovely trails round near me and I'll take them out over the next 4 days.....or I can ride it down the Stort/lea as far as epping......I could even ride it into that famous london, if there is definate interest.....it's a lovely ride ;0)

  • Come on then, ya benders........£490...

Sorry , but I've had a few Henry westons vintage cider.......

  • Really? Too rich? Not nice?
£475 then.....or swap for a Louis vuitton speedy 30 bag in dark brown!

  • If I could smuggle it into my house I would snap it up, it is lovely. Luckily at five eight it is also a bit big for me.

Good luck though, looks a great ride

  • Cheers mate....to coin a phrase, ' I can't believe its still here'

  • I was in Stortford on Saturday. Would've come and picked it up if I were taller.

    Fucking genes.

  • You need to ride it.... It's not massively tall, but you are in a 'racing' stance when seated.... It's stretched out a bit on the top tube for some head down, arse up racing.....

  • Nice bike, would you consider sending it?

  • Yep, but it all depends where to?

  • I'm located in Sweden.

It would be sort of funny if you would rather send it far away than letting your neighbour get it.

  • Sheesh.... I've been stung sending abroad before.

  • What about a swap for a fat bike then?
I have paid for the vuitton bag now......I don't really want to be posting this abroad, as I've had troubles with that before.....

  • So I've still got this....any interested parties before splitting and ebaying?
Come and have a go.....its a very capable, nimble steed!

  • Still trying to make room for a fatbike :-)

  • Yep :0)
My buddy (who is a complete ditherer), was talking about a surly krampus, after I showed one to him.....he then test rode one, and promptly bought it! This was in the middle of me fitting the conti x-king 2.4's and your rigid fork to my transition, while I was trying to justify another, essentially the same, bike!
I really love this titanium bike though, and am still dithering myself about selling it.....

  • Plenty more options coming along on the 29+ front. I quite like the notion of 29er frames that will accept 650b+ wheels.

I'd have thought one of these would be right up your street.

    Rocky Mountain Sherpa

  • Very nice, but I'm not going to be in a position to get another full susser...and I bet it's not cheap!
I was going to get some 27.5 wheels and tyres for this, as I think it would work well.
