  • Nice to see Dom doing something other than Mendhi!
    looks good dude.

I found inner arm up to the pit to be ok
    (funny bone is the worst)

  • Thanks for the roundabout recommendation Kev about King of Hearts.

Have just been in there for a piercing and ended up putting a deposit down for a tattoo. Got a great feeling from the place - and an incredibly refreshing attitude. Incredibly likeable pair running the place. AND a card machine in a tattoo shop?? Amazing.

  • Yep, it definitely made an impression with me. No bullshit attitude, genuinely friendly and welcoming, makes a big difference I think if you want people to come back.

  • AND a card machine in a tattoo shop??

I got caught short with this when I went to pay, cue I trying to get the money out of the bank as I have a limit on the cash machine.

  • After months of thinking about various different things I finally decided on what I wanted...

ha :) Got almost the same tattoo. Based on the logo of a music label I run...

https://f1.bcbits.com/img/0003253926_100.png I got only the crossed O in the middle too..

  • Received an email that cheered me right up.
Pedro Soos is coming to London end of November.
    Much pleased.
(I am booked in to get work done)

  • Oooh nice, Pedro does great work.

  • NSFW image.
He's at Into You right now.

  • That is very impressive.

  • Periodic de-lurking time. Got this from Xam at Seven Doors yesterday:

  • Real nice! Some really strong work happening on the forum at the moment.

  • I'm trying to book for SevenDoors as well after seeing some stuff on this board! Looks great tb55

  • wow, like this on instagram the other day. love it!

  • Sad face.

I was speaking with Thomas Bates about coming up with a design and basically he pied it saying he didn't think it would match his style. Gutted. Took me best part of 2 years to find him and gather up the courage to get involved. Any advice?

  • I suppose this is the best place to ask, I've just got 1 small tattoo on my ankle and I had my septum pierced when I was 15 and then again when 16 after it had healed up.
Now I'm not scared of needles, if someone says I've gotta stick this needle in you, I'm like yup sure (in medically professional circumstances) but any time I have any kind of needle, I get palpitations, go uncomfortably hot and then pass out. I read up on it a while ago and apparently its a natural reaction some people have where your body thinks its been injured and to prevent bleeding, it suddenly drops your blood pressure or something, and you pass out.
This is very uncomfortable though and obviously not ideal. I want another, larger tattoo pretty soon though.
Anybody else have any experience with this and a way of preventing it? Numbing cream maybe so I can't even feel a needle? idk

  • numbing cream doesn't stop you feeling the needle .. just takes the edge off a little ..

  • Maybe I'm just doomed to pass out in the chair!

  • It can't hurt if you're unconscious! Silver lining.

  • Any recommendations for walk ins in London and one off flashes?

  • The Circle, Black Garden, Family Business. Any decent shop really, depends how busy they are.

  • Chewish at Family Business does some cracking stuff and I think he's open for walk-ins.

  • Recommend Ricky Williams at TFB for old school stylee.
    Proper rapid too.

Also tattoo a go go are a good bunch, over Spitalfields way.

  • Valerie Vargas and Stewart Robson have a new shop opening in early November .

Alternatively Ian Flower at New School Tattoo in Epsom has a ridiculously short waiting list for a world class tattoo in any style .

  • Just had this done here in Malta(well gozo actually) as a reminder of our honeymoon here this week.
Super simple and most of the tattoo buffs on here will probably sneer at it but I think it's ace. Sweated the cling film and tape off within a few hours so keeping it creamed up constantly. Will pop out for cling film in a minute. Hard keeping a tat clean and covered while climbing on an island in the med with sand and dust everywhere!
