  • Having a clear out so the following items are up for grabs:

ALAN cyclocross frame (Size 57cm top tube, 58cm seat tube c/c): £125
ALAN cyclocross forks (Steerer length 185mm): £30
ALAN cyclocross forks (Steerer length 136mm): £25

The top two items may fit together. There is an inch of clearance without the headset so not a lot of tolerance, I'm not sure if this is enough. The frame is in good condition, some abrasions on one of the rear stays and on the top tube from cable rub. The forks are in very good nick - I found it really hard to find decent ones.

All items exclude postage which will be at cost depending on where you are etc. PM me if interested (please don't dib) or if you have questions on condition. I can arrange pick up in central London (Warren Street/Goodge Street area) or in Enfield, North London.

    Cheers
    Mark

  • Stradibs on the forks!!!
    Looking at the pictures now

  • The 185mm ones

  • Yes. They're mine. PM on its way.

  • Shift! It may be too short. Got a 165mm headtube . Need to do some investigation but it looks like the steerer is ~20mm shy of the height I need.

  • Nope...too short still :(
Shortest stack height I've found is 32.7mm (Shimano headsets) which makes for a circa 200mm steerer length that I need.
15mm short of it here :( nooooooo

  • This seems to be a common problem. I managed to find a fork with a long steerer but these could only be for very small frames.

    Good luck.

  • Issue is the frame I have, a Guerciotti Alan is both a cyclocross (which limits the type of fork you need to look for) and very light (putting a 1.2Kg cheap cx fork on it won't do anyone any justice).

So they are hard to come by. That's why when I saw this 185mm steerer I was over the moon as it was the longest I've seen in the last month (and also one of the few) and was ALSO an ALAN fork!
    But I forgot I needed a 200mm minimum :(

Considering calling Mario Vaz's brother and see how much he'll charge to build me a light steel one.

  • Alan cyclocross forks are just really hard to get hold of in good condition with a long steerer length. This one was the best I cam across in over a year. I've got a re-built carbon Alan on the new builds forum and that one has a Vitus fork instead. Might be a good option - steel lugs and almost identical anodised finish. Take a look....

  • I'm in the lookout for any fork that can work on this frame as long as it is light.

I am sure it took you a while to get hold of that Vitus fork as well

  • I have a spare fork,
I will check steerer length. It could be 195

  • do let me know...195mm is 30mm more than my headtube...will I be able to find a 30mm headset stack?

  • I will check the size first.
I had the same problem as you.

  • Thanks.

  • Wow there's a 30.2mm stack height headset. I guess that's the lowest I can find.

So I will re-check again my headtube, but if it's 165mm + 31mm that makes for 196mm the minimum I need., but we're also hijacking @LFGSS_MorrisM thread , sorry about that...got free bumps though.

  • another bump mate. Alan are the kings of CX

  • Beatiful frame-shame not my size. Have a bump

  • I'm interested, would you consider shipping to Sweden?
    Send PM please.

  • Interested on frame.
    What's the rear spacing?
    Thanks

  • And seat post?
    I live in London

  • PM'd!

  • I think the frame is sold, the seller put it on Ebay last week. I know this as was bidding on it and unfortunately lost.

  • I think it was a different frame. Look closely at the pics

  • Not sure if that link works as the item ended, but I am 100% sure that it's the same as the pictures are the same and the frame is the same size
