You can buy a GXP BB then bash out the bearings and replaced them with some 'better' bearings. But maybe life is too short.
In my experience the stock GXP BBs take some abuse before going notchy so it would take a lot of riding before the hope BB works out cheaper.
My Apex one has gone from "a bit notchy" to "crankarms have 10mm of play" rather suddenly so I'll pop out to Evans then
