I hope its slamming it down now. All my kit is piss wet through from this morning so if it's raining on the home stretch I'll feel less wronged.
-
• #2629
Well my kit has just about dried.
Ready to leave...But accuweather says thunderstorms passing over in 20mins.
What to do. -

+1 for use of Accuweather.

I just made it home as it started to rain but then I need to cycle to notting hill and stuff for 8ish so fingers crossed it is just 20min.

I poured muddy grey water out of my shoes after getting to work. Journey back was pretty unpleasant too.

I got to ride over a dead fox. Best ride over a dead fox I have had this year.

I realised yesterday that when the weather gets bad the guy who sits next to me at work cycles in a ski helmet and googles

@doppelkorn turney road, linking Dulwich to croxted is closed. Cue massive cluster fuck on norwood Rd and Herne hill central.

It was lovely this morning, and the traffic was really light. Barely felt like an effort but it took me the same time as mornings where I've tried to smash it in.

I had a fierce headwind the entire flipping way. Knees hurt
-
• #2639
I had nasty side wind from the left - had to watch out every time passing a side street. Otherwise a lovely journey. Well, I say lovely, I meant acceptable. I say acceptable....

Side wind going South over London Bridge last night was proper FUUUUUUUUUUU territory.

CS7 this morning between Clapham Common and Stockwell - lovely light traffic. What happened to the cyclists? Very few on the road. Only one idiot cyclist who insisted on undertaking me. Was sorely tempted to cut across her wobbly path, but took a breath and let it go. Need more zen.

Wasn't in just, felt like someone magically trying to pull me into the path of cars.

Barely 2 other cyclists on my whole journey SE - London Bridge. For once I'd remembered to bring a showerproof layer so could actually enjoy the weather. Nicest ride in for ages.
The stations looked busy so I guess that's where the other cyclists are - I suppose once people have bought a ticket one or two days they just get a travelcard for the whole week.

Two plods on bikes at the lights last night around 18:45, not a light between them. Was going to mention something but thought better off it.
Very nervous lady this morning on the CS7 just at Clapham Common tube. Desperately trying to put here right arm out to pull out and around the parked bus. She could barely let go of the handle bars, slowed and pulled out allowing her to pull out and around the bus. I then cycle off, get to a set of red lights further up the road, so I stopped as you do a little bit away from the kerb as there is a massive pothole on the other side of the lights.
Boom along comes the lady undertaking straight through the lights just missing a ped on the crossing and then thank god the driver who was turning out of the side street was paying attention as they managed to slam on the brakes as she sailed on by.
Took a deep breath and continued on my way with out incident.

Soaked again last night. But this morning I made it in before the drizzle arrived. #smallvictories

I had to use the rain cape for the first time yesterday. Crazy. Still warm though.

more full-kit-lords-on-bikes waving through right turning vehicles on brixton road this morning. take a fucking bus.
-
• #2648
Herne Hill is choked up because They have closed Turney Road. My workmate gets bus down Croxted Road, says it is currently taking an hour to get down it (I'd personally get the fuck off and walk but she's a lazy bint).
