I rate Castelli Estremo, but I dunno how they would size with a 'base layer.'

The Rapha deep winter gloves are ace. So warm only had to use the liners a couple of times last year. From what I can remember, they only got soaked twice on some very long wet club runs.

+1 for Castelli Estremo, I really suffer from cold fingers but these have stopped that. They're good down to -5 with liners. Anything over 7-8 degrees and they can get a bit sweaty on rides over an hour

Wore them all last winter on my commute, liked them. Will be good for your purposes, but never worn them with merino liners.

are rapha gloves any good? I have read mixed reviews.
Basically I am after a glove that is windproof & water resistant (but not waterproof) that I can also wear a merino liner under on colder days. Below zero to 10deg or so..
any other suggestions? - dont mind paying around £70 for something good.
