Does a new style bottom bracket (hollow) fit in an older model bike?
Shimano HollowTech 2, Campag UltraTorque/PowerTorque, SRAM GXP and FSA Mega Exo are the common external cup BB standards which fit a 24-25mm axle into an old fashioned threaded BB shell.
There is also BB386EVO for 30mm axles in threaded shells, but it's rare. Cranks made for BB30/PF30 or BBRight won't fit in a conventional BB shell.
