I know mate! Until I buy the parts for a brake I will be, but on a spinny ratio so it's easier to stop!

In regards to the spd's, I never accidently clipped out of these - actually preferred them to my eggbeaters to be honest but I can't decide what to change them for!

To counter Chris's appraisal - I have clipped out of SPDs whilst skidding multiple times, and actually ripped one in half once - the issue is getting the tension right so it'll hold you in, but not break your ankles trying to unclip when you need to, and I've never managed it #stillcantskidproperly #pinsofsteel

I on the other hand am particularly well versed in skidding (almost) into the back of pink Mini's and falling off whilst stationary due to being unable to clip out...

Tl;Dr - whatever happens, you'll fall off

Not had a problem with my current ones and i've been riding them a few weeks now, could it be older ones?

Yeah it gets worse as the cleats wear out, and the springs in the pedals themselves porbably deteriorate - I might be due somenew ones...

Hahah, perhaps? I dunno, i am happy with my ones, i would be tempted for time atacs if it werent for the price in comparison to SPD

Yeah, the silver M520s are on Wiggle for less than 15 squids at the mo - absolute bargain - will get some on pay day.

That's what i got, though apparently they are always £15!

Wheels i will be getting from @salmonchild, should hopefully be later this week then I'm ready to ride!

Also, let me know how you get on with the saddle you've got on there at the mo - I'm getting annoyed with mine and would be up for a bit of a racier cut if it doesn't suit you.

It kinda is! Just needs the lock ring! Went in today but the tech guy wasn't in, was gonna go back but gonna go on Saturday! Did a test ride to get the cog nice and tight, risers feel weird!

I might come to mash tun tomorrw and bring it down before I go out!

Will let you know on the saddle, it feels weird! Chances are I'll be after a rolls!

Cool man - I'm heading down at some point to reccy the social ride for Sunday, and will probably hang around for a cuppa/cake after, so might bump into you. And yeah, come for a drink - would be good to get a group of us together.

nope, the genesis saddle @bengreen already has was my only spare.

And he's pretty protective over his tools, so won't let you take them away, but it's a quick job so shouldn't be an issue.
