What on god's clean earth is a 'curated ride'?

It's expensive for holding hands

"Climbers" shoes but basically heavier than the Giro equivalent they're based on, however also the same price. Would have looked nicer if they'd kept the straps without the holes - black ones look good.

Six months in, I regret buying Giro shoes. Seems like they're still (as a company) learning what makes decent (not great) cycling shoes. I should have bought Sidis again, basically.
Rapha (given their rep for quality) should have gone into the shoe game with a more storied manufacturer, imo. -

i have 2 pairs of giro shoes, one for 18 months one for 12ish, and havent had a single problem with either
in fact i like them much more than the sidis i had before

I'm a long-term Sidi wearer and have been considering gironsjoes for a while. Might hold off for now.

How come / where are they deficient? Laterally compliant and verticaly stiff?

Never had an issue with my Giros.

My 2014 Privateers
- squeak
- are surprisingly bulky around the heel and rub on my cranks
- have really poor fabric finishing vs Sidis (see photo below)
- have annoying buckles that stick closed
- need tightening up 10 miles into a ride
- generally don't fit anywhere as nicely as Sidis
- squeak

I have a pair of giro prolight SLX 2 with about 2500 miles on them (lots of those in the wet)
and apart from a little discoloration on the fluro sections, and a little crank-rub, they're as good as new. very light and fit great too. 9/10 would bang

Would concur on stitching being poor /quite messy but mine seem to be holding up better than the mavic rush I had before. Did manage to damage the buckle on my right shoe hopping a fence and now it comes loose very easily. Do fit well though

To be fair, Sidis are almost indestructible, Giro are decent shoes, but nowhere near Sidis.

The manchester shop is a dangerous place. All the nice things, pricey though.

SiDi are nice but bloody heavy (+ ca. 300g on my Giro's) and expensive. The one thing going for them is all the replacement parts are easily available...and replaceable. On my group rides here in Italy you see some SiDis which are easily five + years old still going strong.
I prefer Giro though, more to do with fit but I've never had a problem with them (to be fair they've been all top end models) and sold my SiDi Wires.

Anyone bought one of these : http://www.rapha.cc/gb/en/shop/women%27s-merino-breton/product/WMB01 ?
Thinking of buying one as a present but the use of stick-thin models make sizing hard to judge...

My Sidis are 5 and 10 years old. Still going very strong.
There was a 'drive the Cols' Challenge going on when I was in france. Sports cars smashing it around the switchbacks.
I nearly crashed into a guy in a Porsche. Me descending too fast, and skidding the rear wheel trying to avoid cutting onto his side of the road. Him taking a switchback uphill sideways.
So we were both acting like twats. But I would have paid good Money to have had a film of the event none the less.
