I picked up a nice Olmo complete last month, photos to follow.
I would love to know a load more about the bike as its bloody interesting! -

Thanks! You're right about the transfers, the originals were the newer type - white with gold. 1990-1994 is my guess on age of the frame - given it's "SLX New" tubing and had downtube gear tensioners rather than the downtube shifters I've fitted. Rear spacing is 130mm, suggesting later I guess. I'd be interested if anyone had any dates for "SLX New" tubing?
If you really need the original decals, Greg at Cyclomondo could make them. He did the scatto decal from scratch for me (from a photo) at a great price and in next to no time!
All the best!
Hi Rob, I did ask him a couple of years back, but could always ask again I suppose.
My Olmo tubing is standard SLX, but does indeed have 130mm spacing and downtube adjusters.

Does anyone have any information on this particular Olmo model? http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5176/5495137357_f668f6f608_z.jpg
I have the same bike in a completed form and am unsure with what I want to do with it!

Guys - had to agree to sell the Olmo Scatto (that I've posted on this thread) to make way for new carbon bike - grr!
It's going up on eBay Sept '13 sometime - probably broken up. If anyone is interested, drop me a line asap. Happy to sell whole bike or frame only. Decent offers please!
Collection from Farnborough, Hants. Might be able to meet partway etc.
@Sam - fancy another Scatto to add to your collection :-)

No thanks Rob, despite it looking like it's more my size than my other two. If it was pink I would definitely be thinking about it though!
Shame it's being sold, good luck with the sale.

My Olmo restoration is still work in progress, but eventually I may be able to ride this in L'eroica.

No worries Sam. I've a "pink" Eddy Merckx, much to the amusement of my kids!
Pics of my Olmo Scatto are now online if anyone fancies a nose...http://www.flickr.com/photos/61748329@N08/sets/72157635502077406/
I'll stick the bike on eBay soon when I get around to it - her indoors hasn't forgotten my agreement to sell it!

Bought an Olmo Leader last week. Picture is as I got it. Plenty of changes coming starting with early C-Record rear derailleur and levers to better match the rest of the parts.

Ok people I was wondering if anyone would be able to assist me in finding out more about my Olmo frame. All it says on the Toptube is Racing so I can only assume that is what it is.
Id like to be able to age it at least. Google searches do not turn up a lot of into. But the paint scheme must be a give away for anyone in the know.
I plan on restoring it to its former glory as its taken a beating over the last few years being passed between me and my mates as a stolen bike emergency replacement frame. Ive just got a new frame so all the parts are coming off. I think it needs some TLC.
only got one pic on this computer but I can take more later.
Cheers

Just got my hands on an Olmo Giro built up with a mix of shimano/campy parts. Can't seem to find a lot of info on them for some reason, just interested to find out roughly what year it's from and what group it would've originally had. Anyone have a giro themselves?
Pictures this evening as I'm in work now.

I have listed Olmo Competition frame 56 in oryginal paint. No rust, very clean steel. Unfortunatelly the interest is infinitesimal. Could you please advise me on the minimum and fair price for that frame?
-

Well, a few people have told you they think you've set the price a too high, but the same people have also said it's a nice looking frame. The price is obviously the issue, rather than the frame itself, which does look lovely. Nearer £300 perhaps?

About time we had some more classic Olmo on here. Check out the chainstay protector!

I have an Olmo saddle like the blue one above if someone has something nice to swap?
Fresh out of the powder coaters.
Just waiting on a 105 rear mech, saddle and pedals and she's good to go.
Rides like a peach.
