Think I am on the beta list or whatever... also might of got a copy of a dev beta off a friend maybe. Which has updated all though the betas so all good. It's GM now so full release soon.

I verified my MBP disc last night and received an error something about rebooting holding down command and R and using disc utility - tried that and booted but went back into OS, disc utility was already open so selected repair disc - that worked but just out of interest I verified again and received same error

failing HDD?

@EB Nah, what you need to do is boot into recovery mode, thats what CMD R does, then use Disk Utility from there as it can repair your OS as its not running or something.

I've had it plenty of times, nae dramas.

ah OK I don't think I held command + R long enough then - I got the grey apple symbol but pretty soon after that I just booted to my desktop

@EB I never get it to work on a wireless keyboard incase you are using one of them... It shouldnt go to desktop but instead to instal, then from instal you use the top apple menu to get to Disk Utility.

I use it. It's pretty good, although I don't trust it to go fully automatic - I review the results and manually delete stuff. It's very accurate.

Anyone in need of a magic mouse? I have one that came with an iMac which is surplus to requirements that I'd be happy to pass on for £35.

Got OS X installation media? Boot into it and fire up the Password Reset tool from the Utilities menu item.

I need to post a 27" cinema display from sweden to the uk. I'm trying to hunt down an original box, but it's proven easier said than done.

Is it a really bad idea to try and make some kind of home made box for it? Was pondering flying it over myself, but it's 10cm too wide for cabin bag size...
