Sure you're not going from a third person to first person server? Every so often I do then get a scare as I start as a bambi, solved by logging out and joining a third person server again

Yeah, I think that's it... Had a look on reddit and that came up a lot as the cause.
Also, @chrisbmx116 that guide is really handy. It ran like shit at first because of all the anti aliasing and stuff but now its super smooth, albeit with jagged grass and bushes, which is fine.

Fuuuuuuuuuuu....... Character got wiped again by some random glitch. It happens when I join servers, as my character was still there when I started it.
Bit of a show-stopper.
