Booked for 3-5.

I've just signed up for the 3pm session too.
Strong showing from LFGSS broads. Nice.
Oh, and nice one Rapha for organising/keeping this for frees. I know I've been less than positive in the past about some of Rapha's "Let's Get Birds on Bikes" actions so this is to be commended.

I recognise 6 of the names in the 3-5pm session including me and there'll be one more when @Ecunard swaps, LFGSS ladies takeover!

I bet you guys are all going to be way better than me! no cornering skillz
Hope you do enjoy it, cross is quite the laugh and the Rapha supercross fun race is always excellent.

I shall convince her that getting a tandem is the best idea.
-
• #13
Awesome! Good work Rapha/Jess. Booked on 3-5. See you all there.
-
• #14
@Ecunard I doubt she'll need much convincing, I already chauffer her around in the car so why not on two wheels as well.. haha.

Anywhere you'd recommend to rent a CX bike for a 5.6 feet friend ?
She decided to come over from Belgium from friday on, for a week or so, and is super keen on joining us at that session, but all bike-renting slots have been filled. -

Post a message up on the AQA thread and see if anyone on the forum has like a 52 frame CX bike they don't mind lending out? I'm guessing 52 because of standover height being a bonus if you're jumping on and off the bike!
-
• #18
You can also see if someone will lend you a mountain bike if you can't source a CX bike. Might be easier to come by.

I've actually cancelled my place for this because if I like it/am any good I haven't got time to do anymore stuff and if I suck at it I'm going to be thinking it's time I could have been doing bmx innit!

This is interesting. Some tips. From the very person who will be teaching the tips.
I'm excited about Sunday.http://igetcross.blogspot.co.uk/2011/10/dismount-remount.html

I've just had to cancel my place for session 2. Booo.
-
• #24

Nooo to poots and tb for cancelling, we're dropping like flies!
I am excited about Sunday but after reading about jumping on and off the bike I fear I may spend much of Sunday rolling around the floor..
Heyoop!
I've mentioned this on the general CX thread but as it's already been buried in there thought I'd make it a bit easier to find for everyone.
Rapha have organised two cross skills sessions on Sunday October 19th for women at HHV where you can borrow a cross bike (or bring your own) and be taught all the basic cross techniques in a fun, chilled way then have a go around the off-road track that surrounds the velodrome. The session will be coached by HHV coaches and possibly supported by Claire Beaumont, very successful cross racer and all around awesome person.
The sessions are back to back with one at 12.30-2.30 and one at 3-5. Unofficial drinks at Le Reej afterwards ;)
