Ordered a large blue frameset. Still getting my head around the brake options but ordered one of these for the front and similar for the back.
Will I be ok running mini v brakes with the rack or should I be looking at cantis more?

Mini V > road brakes but
Normal vs > mini Vs
if you read about Cantis (as in centre pull) they can be set up as good as V's but Vs are more idiot proof!Long story short, if you have the bosses, get normal v brakes and long pull levers.

I find v-brakes to have more power but less modulation than cantilevers and standard road calipers. This overall effect seems to be exaggerated by mini-vs.

my mini v's have 3 positions only, go, stop, skid

That is more than enough.

anyone know the weight of a v4 pompino frame, thinking of building one for sscx, is it heavier than the nature boy? neither is going to be light.

From the pompino spec page.
Approx. Frame Weight (g) Frame: 2.21Kg / Fork: 950g (Medium)Box says net weight 3.5kg, gross weight 5.5kg for frame+fork.

Hey,
I just bought a complete On-One Pompino, but the frame is an XL and I am looking for a Medium. Is anyone selling a Medium Pompino frame I don't care what year it is. I just need the frame itself, thanks!!

Winter is almost here so I guess I'll be using this more now.
I can't wait until I've got some spare cash to give it a bit of a makeover.

Plans?

- singlespeed instead of fixed, I fancy being able to coast to work on lazy mornings.
- drops and hoods
- pannier rack or large saddle bag
- maybe a respray if my budget allows.

Literally wouldn't swap my Pompino for anything else for a winter commuter. Not too flash or expensive, sturdy as hell, fun to ride, takes fat-ish tyres, mudguards and a rack. You know you want to!
