It depends which solvent the paint uses. An acrylic paint might work, and is solvent free.

Can't see it being a prob, anoraks been using enamel paint on plastic airfix models for years.
Some of what you expect to be enamel can be acrylic these days as well. -

Pretty much, except the plastic on models tend to be hard compare to bottle.
