IIRC All the CAADs with IS headsets use campy bearings
If we're going to be pedantic, they use Tange Seiki 4T5-5 bearings, which are interchangeable with Campag ones.

• #63578
Yarp - didn't see your reply. No pedantry intended.
-
• #63579
I was being pedantic - it's odd that Cannondale went to Tange for bearings when nearly everybody else gets theirs from the lovely Tien Hsin

Tien Hsin
Is TH Industries actually hers, or just a name collision?
-
• #63581
Just a name collision, but it always pleases me than when I google Tien Hsin to look up some dull detail of angular contact bearings, I get pretty picture results too.

@Khornight2
Thanks for those suggestions. -
• #63583
Thanks all. Will have another look. The current headset is an FSA but it's too grimy to see the specs on the bearings. It's a 2005 R900 if that changes anything? various googling just produces FSA integrated, no angles!

Down tube cable stops.
Sons Graham Weigh 653 Sunday best bike about to get Tiagra brifters.
Any better suggestion than:
Better = mechanical/longevity advantage or price or LBS

The Shimano one with the lever for the DS stop (see below), is the only improvement I've seen. Not sure what they're called specifically or if they're still available.
I've got a spare pair of Campag stops you can have for a fiver.

I want to do some illustration on a water bottle for a friend, obviously black marker will rub off over time, what other option can I use to paint it? (it'll simply be black line).
-
• #63587
Vail Narnish?
-
• #63588
Hmm, haven't thought of that, they do rub off over time, as I used them on my D-lock to identify which one belong to which keys.
-
• #63589
I long time I used it to cover my crank dust caps and it's still there
-
• #63590
It's not something that get constant rubbing from (frnar).

I reckon nail varnish would chip off quite easily, tbh.
Is etching it out of the question, Ed? Might give it a little more protection as the surface won't be smooth: http://www.ehow.co.uk/how_7677862_do-etching-plastic-champagne-flutes.html

Many thanks your kind offer.
I will send you a pm. -
• #63594
Our D-locks and their keys are identified by thin differently coloured cable ties.
I think the 'selection box' came from LiDL or Aldi. -

Which lizard skin tape for maximum padding?
-
• #63596
DPS 3.2
Be wary that too much padding would encourage you to squeeze the bar harder to keep a good grip.
-
• #63597
Or have the same effect on the carpal tunnel as soft saddles on the bits between sit bones.
-
• #63598
Model enamels are reasonably hard-wearing and probably a bit easier to work with than nail varnish.

Thanks Ed.
Girlfriend is off to a Evans woman's evening tonight where they get 20% off everything. As such, I'm compiling a long list ;) -

When will Cinelli stock their Jelly Bar tape in natural? Been waiting for it for nearly half a year.
IIRC All the CAADs with IS headsets use campy bearings - 45/45. The headset linked to is 36/45
