You've probably seen the table Sheldon quotes: 25mm, although he notes the numbers are "conservative".
Tester's table is, if I remember correctly, based on the table Sheldon uses but gives optimum (rather than safe) combinations: 23mm.
Even if it does work for you, it'll ride like a pig.

Meh, road wheels have been used for cx since the beginning of mud. They'll fit.

I'm going to build it up with some 23c ones I have about for now as everything arrives tomorrow and thursday I'm off to spain for a few days but I'm really wanting something chunky with a bit less air needed as it's easier to commute on and all that, riding like a pig would be the lack of stopping power in the wet...

Can't make up my mind on what tires to get for a Rourke, as I stripped it of RiBMo's yesterday for my road bike.
I've been meaning to go and do few beginners track sessions in Herne Hill and will be staying in Herne Hill near track in two weeks time, so no excuse. Do I get something that works better on a track or just another set of Panaracer RiBMo?

32c knobbies riding low pressure on gras/grippy surface?
-
• #808
Then you'll do fine with 13mm internal diameter and 32c tyre.
-
• #809
You can fit those on 13mm rims, just that you won't get the benefit of the 32mm tyres due to needing to uppen the pressure a bit to stop it from feeling too squirmy.

rubino pro sits perfectly, reasonable puncture resistance

Anybody tried WTB Nano races?, I do mainly roads but throw in a bit of towpath and woodland track every now and then. Cheers.

• #812
look pretty overkill for mainly roads
-
• #813
I agree. Roads will kill them.
-
• #814
Cheers. Was just wonderin if anybody had any experience with them.

Read a few reviews on the Wtb Nano Race 40s, it would seem that they aren't to shabby on the roads, so I'll give em a go, gettin em cheap, and report back. Currently running 32c paselas, so you know what I'm comparing against.

You'll wear away the thread a lots quicker than you think if you use them for everyday riding.
I have the MTB version previously, they're decent off road and doesn't feel like there's too much resistance on the road.

Can't find (uk)stock anywhere on the WTB Nano

35c Kojak is perhaps a better baloon 4 road alternative.

Found 35c Kojaks ran pretty small (30.5 measured IIRC)

Thx -I remember the kojaks ran 35mm wide - but top wise I never measured.

2nd puncture this month so time to finally invest in some new (and decent tyres) for ma sweet fixie.
It's for my everyday, riding around London type action - I'm not really bothered about weight or rolling resistance but I am bothered about grippy-ness and puncture resistance.
I'm thinking Schwalbe Durano Plus. Yay? Nay?
-
• #824
If you're not bothered about rolling resistance, Marathon Plus for rear, and Durano Plus for front.
Try and get the biggest you can fit in your clearance.

Cheers Ed. Got 23's on atm but I reckon I can get 25's in.
Just got some Schwalbe One tubeless tyres with a Stans kit of tape, sealant and valves for £80 from Bike Discount.de
